How did you get started in Radio?
Ufff!!!  It’s a long story, but one of the best things that could have ever happened to me. In short, when I was a musician, I used to have contact with the person in charge of personnel at KIRT 1580am in McAllen, TX. One day—yes, one day—, one of the station’s DJs called me to ask if I would play at his sister’s wedding celebration. Up to that day, my music was my life. However, when he heard me make announcements and dedications through the PA system announcing, he came up to me and asked if I was interested in working at the radio station. I, in turn, asked him if he was sure of what he was asking of me. He suggested that I start part-time, or as a backup when needed. So I agreed. What was unbeknownst to me at the time was that the experience would change my life in a positive way.
